Sinéad O'Neill-Nicholl (b.1974) studied fine art at Belfast School of Art (2015-2020). Sinéad is a current member and a former Chair and Trustee of Vault Artist Studios, Belfast, the largest provider of affordable multi-disciplinary arts studios in the north of Ireland. Holding key roles in a number of Belfast based arts organisations (Household Belfast CIC and Creative Exchange Artist Studios), Sinéad is also a co-founder of Second Collective Belfast and works to support arts professionals through paid opportunities and mentoring. Sinéad is co-founder of commonplace, an international artists' collective and has worked collaboratively with them to deliver workshops and events about grief.
Solo exhibitions include The C-word, paradox and optimism of the will (2022) at University of Atypical (Belfast) and ni bheidh se mar a bhí (2022) at Gerard Dillon Gallery (Belfast).
Selected group exhibitions included 5² (2023) at QSS Gallery (Belfast), K-fest (2022)(2021) (Killorglin), Hindsight (2020) at Rua Red (Dublin), Our Friendship is There to be Explored (2019) at The Long Gallery (Bangor).
Selected awards include Arts Council NI, Individual Artist Digital Evolution Award (2023), ACNI SIAP (2023)(2019), Screaming Pope Award Finalist (2021), Kilkenny Exchange Award (2020)
Sinéad has performed as a solo, duo and group participant in a number of performance art events. Sinéad is currently developing two collaborative projects with (Gemma Mae Halligan) a theatre producer from Belfast and (Erick Boustead) a film maker in Minnesota and is being supported by John D'Arcy at SARC to develop production skills in Dolby Atmos.
